Emergency dentistry becomes critical if you have been in an accident or have experienced injury to your teeth, mouth or jaw. Instead of enduring painful suffering and possible permanent damage, contact our Troy emergency dentist immediately if you may need emergency dentistry services. Delaying treatment for a dental emergency may increase the risk of permanent damage resulting in more extensive and costly restorative dental treatments.
Meadowbrook Family Dentists will see you immediately if you are having a dental emergency — even if you are not currently one of our patients. Whether you lose a filling, chip or break a tooth or need to relieve unbearable tooth pain, don't put off emergency dentistry treatment any longer. Learn more about Emergency Dentistry here.
Wisdom teeth are the last molars — also called third molars — which develop on each side of your jaw. These teeth usually emerge in the back of your mouth between the ages of 16-20. When the jaw isn't large enough to accommodate your wisdom teeth, they can become impacted (unable to come in or misaligned). Wisdom teeth may grow sideways, emerge only part way through the gum or remain trapped beneath the gum and bone. Dr. Clague can help diagnose troublesome wisdom teeth and decide if removal by an oral surgeon may be necessary. Learn more about Wisdom Teeth here.
Sports Dentistry & Mouthguards
Sports dentistry covers the prevention and treatment of oral and facial injuries incurred by participants competing in any sporting event. While sports injuries are common — especially those to the mouth, teeth and jaw — many can be avoided or minimized with the use of a properly fitted dental mouthguard.
Our Troy sports dentists know from experience that mouthguards are not only essential for football players, boxers and hockey players. Athletes in many non-contact sports such as roller blading, gymnastics, soccer, volleyball, baseball, wrestling and skateboarding experience unnecessary injuries to their teeth, mouth and jaw that can be prevented by wearing mouthguards properly fitted by our Troy sports dentist.
The overall cost of repairing a tooth well exceeds the minor cost of a properly fitted mouthguard. Our Troy mouthguard dentists can ensure proper fit and function of your child’s mouthguard to help prevent costly and debilitating oral or facial injuries during sports participation.
